I got my mortgage initally through another lender, shortly thereafter it was sold to Everhome. I didn't have any problems with them until I called them a month in advance to make them aware I was having a difficult time making my pymt. The rep assured me everything was fine and that I had another 5 day grace period after the due date. I made the payment and things were fine. Then within the following weeks, I contacted them to refinance or modify my loan. They said I would have to pay like $400.00 in order to do so or go to another lender to take my loan. Through a period of 3 months I was in contact with them constantly. They offered me no assistance or solutions. Aside from the default notice, the next mailing I received was a letter that read "Under no conditions or circumstances would they help me". All I wanted to do was either reduce my monthly payment and/or add the late fees etc, to the end of my loan. (As we are trying to get back on our feet!) In the mean time, I tried to send them what extra money I had. They told me the would not except anything but the full amount each month; no partial payments, nothing. I have never been late on my payments! And this is the Thanks I get...?
So - Here it is months later, living in fear each day that I am going to be on the street, I have been searching for help financially, other lenders, even employment oppurtunites.
I just can't help but feel that it's really all about the money with these people, not practicing what's in the best interest of their customers.
