In trying to rebuild my credit, I obtained a credit card from Providian. All went well until they sold to GetSmart and then to eMerge Mastercard. I have tried on numerous occassions to reach this company with great difficulty.in Feb I received a letter from them and contacted them immediately. Payment arrangements were made and I have thus far fulfilled my end of the bargain. They however have not! They are not helpful. I get transferred to everyone and their mother and then get told to call them M - F from the hours of 9 am to 6 pm. No one is home. I urge everyone to contact the Federal Trade Commission at 1-877-382-4357. They are currently taking complaints on Emerge and will file an investigation if complaints keep coming in.
