15-year mortgage was recently purchased from another bank after 6 years. Mortgage was in good standing with no delinquencies.
Check for April 1 was mailed with instructions that the payment was for the month of April. Dovenmuehle/Leader processed on March 25 and then claimed that the payment was an "early principal payment" and that full payment and penalties for April 1 were still due under threat of collection.
The mortgage is at the very low end of the fix interest scale with little profit potential and it appears that the bank is attempting to use frivilous penalties to generate income.
