CHASE Bank
Bank Trickery for Overdraft Fees

Dear Ripped Off Report:

Below are our correspondence regarding complaints for CHASE for trickery of their overdraft fees intentionally ripping off costumers money. We have tried to play their rules to avoid overdraft but they are still manipulating our account to push our money to be overdrawn. The main date to analyzed is the 14th of April where all the transactions of manipulation from CHASE happened. We have proof that we have deposited a cash over the counter to make our account balance. We watch our account very carefully online every day and we have also signed up for account alert notifications through email and cell phone text messages in order for us to avoid any overdraft but the trickery of the bank is very difficult to beat. We have watched this so many years and we have paid hundreds or maybe thousands of dollars for this rip off. We have tried many avenues that they have recommended but have failed as well and we do not have other options. We have studied this trickery and have verified with other people who are experiencing the same problems. We believe that this is a scam that takes advantages of people like us who are basically living from pay check to pay check and the bank like chase takes advantage of this. This is not fair.

We have tried to talk to them many times over the phone and have even visited the branch and have personally talked to Branch manager but repeatedly denied our case and told us that there are no Bank errors. The last event in the 14th of april is a very good example. We have received notification from chase that our account have 4 pending transaction on that same day and that about to be overdrawn. We have immediately deposited a money over the counter in local branch to make it balance. When we check the following day our deposited money is still pending and the overdraft fees of total of $140 have took effect. The amount of money we have deposited should have been sufficient to make our account balance but because they did not clear our deposited money in "CASH" and have let the overdraft fees pushed through now our account is negative only because of overdraft fees. Another thing we found is they have paid 2 days early than what is scheduled date in our online payment towards our utility bill. This early release of funds manipulated by CHASE caused our account also to be overdrawn. We have scheduled payments online on specific dates because those are the dates we expected to have available funds in our account. These transactions of scheduled payments are documented online.

The bountiful branch manager called me and have tried to defend their manipulative efforts. He told me that the 14th of April was a friday and end of business day of the week and so the fund has to be available immediately for the following week. When I have verified the dates, the 14th is not friday but rather Tuesday. This proves that they are not even paying attention carefully to our case and have deliberately ignore our plead.

Please let us know if you need further clarifications to this complaints

Thank you for your help

Dear CHASE:

This is an additional complain regarding the first complaint we have submitted shown below. Attached also are following documentation to prove our case. We have scheduled a transfer payment online for the 16th of April but CHASE have cleared the transfer earlier than scheduled time which is the 14th of April. This is for Rocky Mountain Power Payment. This has caused our account to overdraft and CHASE is charging us $140.00 in total that we are not willing to pay. Once again for the record, we do not believe that we should pay these overdraft fees. This is not fair for costumers like us and we will do everything to fight for our rights as consumers.

Dear CHASE:

We are very disappointed that we are still being charged for $140.00 overdraft fees eventhough we have tried to balance our account on the 14th of april. We have been watching our account every minute online and even have text notifications if our account is close to being overdrawn. We deposited a cash of $50.00 on the 14th of april when transactions are still pending and the money we deposited over a bank teller in cash is supposedly cover to make our account current. At this point we are still not being charged for overdraft but when we spoke to the costumer service that there will be pending overdraft fees of $140.00. We are not willing to pay for overdraft fees and we would like to close the account but the agent will not allow us to do so because of the pending overdraft fees.

Below are the four transactions:

04/14 Debit Card Transaction WENDYS #3188 Q25 S 04/12WENDYS #3 $6.42 ($42.39)
