I have had a credit card with Wachovia bank for over 4 year. They had excellent rates. Well, Wachovia had recently been bought out, so I assumed my interest rates and balance tranfer rates would stay the same with the new company. My rates with Wachovia were 12% on purchases and 0% on balance transfers. But, because I did not sign a form and send it back to FIA to keep my rates and cancel the card, they hiked the interest on the entire balance on my credit card for 25.99%. My finance charges were raised from $45.00 a month to $122.00 dollars a month. Since then, I have paided off most of the balance on the card and they are still charging me higher finance charges on a balance higher than the correct balance. These people are crooks. Put your money in another banking establishment immediately and never deal with FIA CARD SERVICES again.
