West Bay Aquisitions (via National Recovery) has posted an unpaid bill of $99.17 to Equifax which has dropped my credit rating from 774 to 702. An inquiry to CSC Credit Services resulted in a phone number to National Recovery. A phone conversation with a rep from National Recovery revealed that the "unpaid bill" was from 2003 for a Sci Fi book club purchase. They had an address where I have never lived. I have never been a member of a Sci Fi book club. I have nothing against Sci Fi but, approaching 60, I find little use for a Spiderman scarf.
I will pursue this through Equifax. However, the dollar amount raises a red flag. How many people have paid the less than a hundred dollars to make their credit report return to its previously respectable level without question?
Both West Bay and National Recovery need a closer look. As well as Equifax for not questioning their claims.
I will be jumping through hoops to get this cleared up.
