I was falling behind on payment for my mortgage as well as my real estate tax and I was referened to Hope Now Modification. I called a counselor called Eric Egolf and he email me a Hope Now Modificaiton contract for me to look over with my wife and sign along with the required documentation to start my modification process. This all started in December. He mentioned that the only other thing needed is $3,800 to show my mortgage company that I am working in Good Faith.
I looked over this document with my wife and she was a little skeptical but I went online and I saw there Website. I even looked for fraud but nothing came up until today. So I told him I do not have the money. He said why don't you try borrowing from you 401K and I was able to borrow $2,000 and took away $1,000 from my mortgage and I told him all I can come up with is $3,000 and he said he would talk with his supervisor and get back to me. He emailed me and said that Hope Now would cover the other $800. He told me that Hope Now would be able to get me a lower rate and combine my real estate taxes with my mortgage and reduce my monthly payment and that it would take 4 to 8 weeks and that someone would call every 5 to 10 business days to keep me updated about the process and at first someone did but after getting a letter in the mail almost three months later from my tax collector about a lien being put on my property I tried contacting Eric by email or his number no answer.
I went to their website at www.hopenowmod.com and three months ago it was up but now it said under construction. I found this to be odd so I googled fraud and Hope Now and Hope Now Modification came up. I felt like a sucker and was so angry. I was taken for a fool. I should have done better research. I was so desperate to get out of my financial situation that I believed anything and they preyed on me. I hope this will help from having anyone else for prey to something like this. I wish I could get my hands on Hope Now Modifications LLC. Eric Egolf the counselor I spoke to number is (877) 476-3364 ext. 5731.
