In August of I recieved a phone call from a credit card company by the name of Freedom Resource.
They promised me that I would be approved for credit and that since I was about to start college in the fall it would be a great advantage for me to have a line of credit. They asked for all my information and then sped through a line of questions confirming my information. They sped through questions about the cost of this credit card too. They then gave me a number to contact if I needed any help or had more questions.
The very same day I called the company back after thinking it over, and told them that I did not wish to participate in the card that I didn't give them authorization to take money from my bank account and that as the consumer I was exercising the right to change my mind.
As a precaution I had my bank charge me 25$ and put a stop payment on any company called Freedom Resource wishing to take $221.95 out of my bank account on the agreed date. The date came and went, and 2 days later I recieved a notice that I had $221.95 taken from my bank account by a company called FRI and the bank refused to refund my money for the stop payment or even try to get my money back from FRI.
They said that it wasn't their fault because the date wasnt the same or the name of the company. I was scammed by these professional con artists when they new that I might place a stop payment they changed the date they gave me and the name they gave me.
I then called Freedom Resource over the next few weeks and got no answer for hours at a time. On the 26th of September I finally got ahold of "Kelly" at Freedom Resource. She said that their had been a back order and that I would be recieving my start up package soon.
I explained that I had changed my mind because I didn't have the money to spend and that all I wanted was my money back. She explained to me that I would recieve the pakage in 15-21 days and that I should return it to sender. She then informed me that when they recieved the package I would get my money returned by mail.
On the 15th of October more than 15-21 days, I had still not recieved the package so I called again. This time I talked to "Ftella" (I made her spell her name) and she said that there was a mix up with the packages and that she would send me a refund form instead that same day.
On the 28th of October, 18 days later, I still had not recieved the refund form. I called again. This time I recieved no answer, but they finally had set up an aswering machine. I told them who I was and what I wanted and asked why I havn't had this resolved. I never got a call back.
On the 26th of November I called and demanded that "Debra" send my form or I would sue the pants off their company. She said that they would send the form that day, and that I would get it in five buisness days.
I got the form on the 9th of December and mailed it on the 10th (I sent the form track and confirm overnight, signature upon recipt). It was signed for on the 12th of December by a "Mr. James Izant" at 1:15pm.
By the time the 27th of January came around I had not heard any thing from the company and called again. This time I spoke to Grace who told me that there would be a return fee of about $29 and that I would recieve the rest in the mail around April for processing reasons. I said that it was ridiculous that I would have to wait 4 months for processing. She said it was standard. I told her I expect it on April 1st. It is now April 9th and I have been trying to get ahold of these people all week.
I have not recieved my money, and have done everything they ask. Now when I call I get a busy tone every time I call no matter what time of day it is. I just want my money back. If they won't give it back.
I suggest three words for all the victims of Freedom Resource..."CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT" I figure if I have to fight to the death I will. All I want is my money back, if they won't give it to me, I will own them. I'm tired of this run around and Im not going to take it anymore.
