I also agreed to have a cd sent through mail for only $1.98 for shipping. Nowhere did I see any agreement to pay $69.95 if I didn't cancel withing 7 days of agreeing to have a cd sent.
I signed up to have the cd mailed on February 24th. I received a phone call about a week later giving me instructions to go online and check out the programs while waiting for the disc to come. At no time was there any mention that I had only 7 days to check things out before I would be charged. There was even a portion of the phone call that was recorded for verification, and there was never any mention of that - That would have got my attention.
Today - March 11th, I checked my banking statement online and noticed a charge of $69.95 from Grant funding search that I did not authorize. I immediately called the number and got this line about only having 7 days from the day of agreement to have the disc sent to cancel. I told the woman on the phone I wanted a refund and she refused. I then asked to speak with a mananger, which the woman replied that there was no manager available and that the manager would just tell me the same thing. I insisted on speaking to someone other than her and she finally said someone would call me within the hour.
I went online to see if I could find some info about this company and was led to this website where there was already a report on here. The person that had already filed the report is apparently still fighting to get her money back.
If anyone has any info or has successfully received a refund of their money that was scammed, please file a report letting others know!
