I am writing on behalf of my daughter and her tax preparation from Jackson Hewitt. I know your are a spokesman for this company and would be interested in knowing about some of their practices that I would consider predatory.
She is a single mother of two and earned $4,700 last year. When she went to the Burlington NJ office her taxes were prepared on a 1040 form. Her total preparation fees were $364 which inlcluded rapid refund. This could have easily been prepared on a 1040EZ at a much lesser fee. As Jackson Hewitt would be considered experts in this field they should have made that recommendation to her.
As a spokesperson for this company I would expect you are familar with the tax process. An although I have not given you all the specifics you can see that these fees were very excessive.
I have contacted the local disctrict office about this matter, after receiving several different names and numbers to contact.
I am now waiting for a response. They would Not give me the number to the corporate HQ, also I have sent Emails to ALL of my friends and associates
As a man of high ethics and morals, I thought it important for you to be aware of the practices of your endorsements.
I also hope you will look into this to matter to protect people like my daugher in the future.
