I filed my taxes at the erie office on 01/20. They did not claim my school (online). I had a second look done by another liscenced tax agent which costed me and additional $80.00 and to my suprise he did an amendment to my taxes and I am receiving an additional 1439.00. I am upset about this because Jackson Hewitt did not get me back what was owed to me. Also when the preparation was done they quoted me a price of $90.00 (without going through the paperwork to verify what I was being told) but when I picked up my check a total of $161.00 was deducted for the fees, when I questioned the Jackson Hewitt agent about the fee she began telling me she never said that and she dont know where I heard 90 dollars from.in other words called me a lier. I know what I was told. I might be part wrong for not making her go through the paperwork but she is the agent and should know better. One final thing is JH always did my city taxes and now I find out they dont prepare city taxes. If thats the case why did I pay so much in total I ended up paying $231.95.
