Consumer First obviously targets people who are in financial trouble and could use an instantly approved credit card. After mailing my check for the $49 membership fee and rush delivery, I tired of waiting and searched for the company on the web. What I found was this usacomplaints.com site.
Since it was by personal check, there was no way for the bank to reverse the transaction. They recommended going to the police. A couple days later I received the membership package from Consumer First. It was a total scam. The credt line is only good for products purchased from their company's catalogue, which contains only unnecessary and overpriced items. I typed a letter stating that they had operated in an absolutely fraudulent manner, and that I wanted a refund as their 30 day guarantee promised. I also told them I would surely contact the authorities should my request not be honored.
I sent the package with delivery confirmation, and Billie Pardee signed for it on the 6th of March. Today, March 20th, I received a check from Parlee for the $49 I originally sent. Who knows if the check is any good, but assuming it is, I am only out the cost of sending the membership package back and the delivery signature confirmation. Hope this helps anyone who these people have taken advantage of.
