Midpoint contacted me in late October about a two year old debt for a credit card and offered me a great payoff deal. I set up a payment and told them I would do everything I could to come up with the money.
One week before the payment was due I called them and said Icould only come up with half the money but they could automatically debit it from my account. They were told at that time that was all Icould afford and I would stay in contact to pay the rest of my balance. Midpoint agreed and said we would keep in touch. On December 1 Midpoint debited my account for the entire amount of the payoff!
Now they had $1050 more than we had agreed upon! They sent me a check for $500 and I told them I needed the whole $1050 because that was my Mortgage payment. Midpoint said sending me the other $550 would cancel my deal. I said fine, I need to pay my mortgage and they knew I didnt have the money to pay them!
It took me the whole month of December and half of January of constant harassment to FINALLY get someone to resolve my problem.
My resolution was only taken care of after I contacted the Michigan Attorney General and there office contacted Midpoint. That day Midpoint called me four times when they hadn't contacted me for a month and a half! Just got the rest of my money yesterday, THANK YOU MICHIGAN ATTORNEY GENERAL!
