Below is a copy of the letter i sent to the better business bereau:
I was contacted by this company about a debt i allegedly owe from nine or ten years ago. I sent them a dispute letter over it like i was asked to do, then when i hadnt recieved the paperwork that i had asked for concerning the debt i contacted them again.
This time on the phone the man i talked to never gave his name and was real rude and hateful calling me a baby and just continually insulting me over tis matter and threating that they where fixing to sue me over this. I explained to him that the matter was ten years old and that i had done some reasearch on it and that it was unable to be taken to court because of this fact he verbally berated me on it and called me a liar.
When i explained to him that he just violated statuate 15 USC 1692d section 806 of the fair debt collection practices act he became even more verbally abusive said again that i am being sued and he hung up on me. Now whenever i try to call them back to speak to a supervisor i cannot get ahold of anybody and stay on hold please help me solve this problem.
What elase can i do i cant afford a lawyer and i didnt think they could take you to court over a debt that is that old or refuse to send you any paperwork involving the debt
