Investors Beware!

My $100,000.00 CD with Bank of America matured and I called them within the 7-day allotted time period. I asked them to deposit the money electronically directly into my checking account for security/safety reasons. They refused. I explained that I had recently moved and didn't want any problems with where the check would end up so asked them to send it to my new address, if they would absolutely not deposit it into my account electronically.

They knew unequivocally that they were speaking to me because of the series of security questions they asked me. They refused to send it to me at my new address, but instead insisted on sending it to an address I had not lived for almost a year. It is now ten days later and I have still not received the funds. I called and spoke with a supervisor in the CD department and explained the situation. All they had to say was "call customer service" and tell them your complaint.

I called customer service, explained the problem to them and all they had to say was "they would stop payment in another 10 days and re-issue a check in which case it would take another ten days to receive, if I receive it at all. I told them they were responsible for the lost interest and would have to reimburse me. They then told me they would not pay any interest to me even though they still have use of my money. When I complained to them again that they must reimburse me, they disconnected me. My advice to anyone looking for a safe place to put money, DO NOT GO TO BANK OF AMERICA!
