Filed bankruptcy to avoid foreclosure. Received notice to pay mortgage attorney additional $1900 per month for 6 months, including $1100 mortgage & $1080 bankruptcy trustee fee. Besides regular monthly bills, couldn't afford.
Telephone GMAC, spoke to someone named Melissa. Was not very cordial on phone. No good morning, how are you, etc.
Melissa asked how much I had on the side & told not to use it. That was the end of conversation. Didn't say why she wanted to know.
Few weeks later received paperwork for loan modification. Wanted $1300 first month, $1600 second month & $1800 next month. Received notice at end of month w/payment due next day.
If I couldn't pay all that was due before how could I do it now. Should have contacted me about a payment plan.
Later found out, after contacting GMAC, my loan was sent to Fannie Mae. I didn't receive any notice from anyone. Contacted mortgage attorney about saving my house, attorney hasn't heard from GMAC. Now having sleepless nights trying to figure out how to save home.
With GMAC being such a large company, they should try to help their customers more. I told them they would not benefit by selling the house at foreclosure, they don't care. They would rather you lose your house, leave it sit vacant for how long, instead of helping you.
I wish I could get rid of GMAC as my mortgage company. They are not the friedliest people to talk to. I dread anytime I have to phone them.
