I had a card from WaMu for a while; at one point, I requested a "stop payment" on a particular item, unsolicited, from a particular company (that item and company are not pertinent to this report.) They said that it would take several months, and a bunch of paperwork.
In my opinion, a credit card company works for ME, not for every retailer that wants to dip into my account. I informed them that I would pay only the minimum until that one item had been deleted.
I was late making that minimum payment, last month. That's when they became an absolute nightmare.
For the last two and a half weeks, I have been bombarded by telephone calls from WaMu. Starting at 8:30 in the morning, they would call three, four, or even five times a day. (I did manage to get Christmas day off.) The first caller, I told that I would make the minimum payment as soon as possible. That should have been the end of it — but it was only the beginning.
As the calls kept pouring in, day after day, I finally had enough, and decided to sue these bastards. So for the past few days, I've been informing the caller (it's always a different person) that they would be sued, not paid.
I contacted the Justice of the Peace in Texas, in regards to filing suit. (That's who you need to talk to, and the number I have for them is 214-904-3188.) They told me that the suit must be filed in the "district" in which WaMu is located, there in Texas; I now have a physical address for WaMu in Dallas, which is where the bills get sent to. That address is: 9625 Audelia Rd., Dallas, TX 75238. I'll be calling the Justice of the Peace back with this information, and they'll send me the packet of info needed to file a claim in small claims court. I will be filing a suit for harrassment — and making a tape of everything on my caller ID machine, to use as evidence.
I also decided to start taping their calls. This morning (Dec. 30) I got the usual 8:30 A.M. Call, and informed the caller that I was suing (which I'd told the previous 7 or 8 callers) and that this call was being taped, by me.
Lo and behold, not another call, all day!
I'll give 'em a couple days, just to see if I get to record any more of their harrassment. I suspect that telling 'em they were on tape, is what made them stop! The next few days will tell. HOWEVER — if they think I'll just let this slide, they're dead wrong. I will be pursuing this suit, for the maximum amount allowed by law (10K in a small claims suit.)
Friends, don't put up with this kind of guff — go after them, and mean it!
Then, cut up your WaMu card.
