Bank of America
Demands proof of loan payment a third time. Aggravating my life

I encourage all to refrain from having any account or business whatsoever with Bank of America... They are incompetent, rude, consider customers to be in the wrong, and are totally a headache... I've spent hours and hours on trying to rectify their incompetence at keeping records and the frustration has been enormous. Please let others know they are not alone in the battle against Bank of America and to boycott them.

Here is my story:

Bank of America Consumer Loans Dept threw away my proof of payment twice which they requested I prove that I paid my car loan payment of Jan 1998. When I sent the proof to them in 1998, I soon received another notice stating they couldn't read the back of the check which by the way was quite clear and definitely showed it had been cashed by them. Their consumer loan customer service representative told me that they "threw the correspondence with a copy of the check" away and I would "have to" resend it! I did send it again, however, got ANOTHER notice that I needed to prove the same payment again.

I called their consumer loan customer service once more and got a non-chalant - "yeah, we received it but threw it away... You'll have to make the payment or send another copy of the check. We don't have your correspondence." I replied that this was total incompetence on their part. I got a "so - just send it again." from the customer service supervisor.

In the past 3 years, I have written several letters with no satisfaction, talked to their consumer loan customer service representatives as well as supervisors and nothing happens - they say I'm wrong - they're right. This has gone on since mid-1998 and I now have one payment left until the car is paid off.

I am ordering yet ANOTHER copy of the check so I can have recorded proof that I have done my part and will AGAIN send it to them. If this doesn't work I am bringing in the Missouri Attorney General to investigate them and their ripping the customers off.
