Like the rest of you who have filed usacomplaints.com I have been charged fees upon fees not owed. At present they claim my payoff balance is higher than my original loan 18 months ago, even though I have paid over $500 per month for a year and a half. January's payment is not even due yet (duh, it's still December folks!) and yet I am being called every two hours, 10 times a day.
When I last tried to talk to them, MR FRANKLIN made false accusations and named off names of people I have not seen or heard of for over 30 years as persons he was next going to call and harass! When I told them not to bother my mother because my dad had just passed away the day before, I received calls to the funeral home where my father lay in wait! There is nothing good about these people.
They even called a man I was married to back in the 70's and who was abusive. I have been away from him after annulling our marriage and he has not known where to find me. I remarried, raised kids, have grandkids and now, thanks to Drive Financial, he knows where I am and I or my family could again be in danger of him! This is not a person I ever used as any type of reference!
As to where they get the information on who to bother, I learned by several websites I am registered on that they run background checks on you including your high school and college, employment verification sites, credit and government entities - any name they can remotely connect with you gets bothered. I saw they had looked me up on Reunion.com, a site for old classmates to keep in touch. Now everyone who even looked at my profile via that website has been harassed and I am too embarrassed to attend my class reunion! ANY name ever connected with you is fair game to them.
The people who call are rude and obnoxious but I guarantee you they are working in a call center where they get paid by the number of calls they place in an hour. You can tell them today that you will pay Friday and they will still call you and anyone else they can find who they think might even remotely know you each and every day, 10 times a day. It is harassment and a violation of the law.
They tell you that if you met your obligations you wouldn't be having this problem. Yet, they call even BEFORE your next payment is due to claim you owe some bogus fee or interest in some bogus fee that was never disclosed anywhere and doesn't even appear on your statement. No wonder they have to charge so many fees - they ahve to pay for their private detective work and subscriptions to all of the websites they use to find people who knoew you when you were just a baby.
I have begged them to come and get my car or to tell me where I can park it for them but they won't do it because they know I don't owe them any money and that they would be in trouble for repossessing it under these circumstances. My local bank is trying to contact them about paying off the loan and cannot get a person to speak with them, nor can they get a call returned after leaving numerous messages. They do not want your car paid off!
If I save one person from doing business with these jack legs I will consider the time I spent writing this well worth it. Yes, we all need to sue these idiots! Most banks are struggling to do well in this economy and want their customers to be able to pay their debts. Drive is nothing but a bunch of predators, thieves, liars and lawbreakers!
