Do not do business with Easyaid.com or American Student Financial Aid!
If you are looking to file an application for a student loan with the Department of Education don't make the mistake that we did and file it will Easyaid.com or American Student Aid. Be careful, as there will be a Google link to Easyaid even if you do a search for the government site.
Were we at fault for going to easyaid? Absolutely. Should we have opened the terms of agreement and went through with a fine tooth comb? Yes. That is our fault, we will admit it, but we don't want it to happen to anyone else. Once you pay and send in your application not only will they take your money, you can't get a hold of anyone and emails will only be returned after the fact. Check out their puny makeshift office location too, definitely not viable choice for education funding.
Filing with the Department of Education is free and you do not need to pay $60 for their horrible service that gives you nothing but greif. You can visit their website at www.fafsa. Ed. Gov. When I called the Department of Education they were appalled! (and looking further into it thank goodness)
The CEO and Founder of easyaid.com is even worse, not only will he give you smart-aleck emails in response to you trying to get your money back, he admitted they had horrible customer service and refers you to the Terms of Agreement checkbox and that he will have his attorneys uphold it. Beautiful! What incredible business and service acumen.
Companies like Easyaid.com and American Student Financial Aid are true examples of horrendous business practices that prey on people that are trying to fund their education and their futures. How do you find people that any worse than that? Maybe they should go after my grandmas retirement next or jump out of the bushes to take my kids Holloween candy directly out of the bucket.
