Since I was unemployed and could foresee financial difficulties, I contracted with Peoples First Financial to coordinate a "Loan Modification" for me with my first and second home mortgage lenders. I paid them $3000 to handle this process for me. It seemed to be a bargain considering what they told me they could do for me. I was also told that I would receive $500 off this fee if I sent other people their way. I referred several people to them as I live in Michigan and it is not at all difficult to find people trying to save their homes.
I contracted with Peoples First in September and it is now mid-December and according to my primary mortgage lender ASC, the only contact they have received from Peoples First Financial is my authorization to deal with them. I have made numerous attempts to contact Peoples First Financial but no one returns my e-mail or phone requests. Joe Aguon is my representative and Brandon Skiver is in the Conditions department and was to be handling my case. I recently spoke with Hing in the customer relations department all to no avail. Every time I call I am told that someone will contact me within 48 hours but no one ever does. Hing told me to deal with him directly but has yet to give me his contact information so that I can send him the documents that he said were so important.
When I started this process I was not behind in my mortgage. I contracted with Peoples First Financial because I could foresee problems. Had I not contracted with them I would have continued to pay my mortgage and let everything else slide. It was my priority to not loose my house. Now it seems inevitable that that is what is going to happen. During my last contact with Hing I was told that the impending "Auction" of my home could be put off but I have little confidence that this will occur. I am sick when I think of all the clients I have sent them.
