They were a bill collector for a Kane's Furniture that I had not paid. - There were reasons why I did not pay this, but that was with the original retailer. Once it went to collections, I tried to explain the problem, but the collection agency would have nothing to do with it. I was dealing with Chris Wall.
He stated that the client would accept a settlement of $550.00 if I paid it in full. The original amount was $651.00. I paid the 550 on 10/25/02 via Western Union. Mr. Wall was to send me a confirmation letter, however, I had to send in my money right away or else the deal was off. That's why I had to use Western Union. I'm sure this is quite common in your business.
In January, I received a letter stating that I owed $101.00 and it had been turned over to a collection agency. Remind you that this letter was from the same agency that I just settled with. I called Mr. Wall up. That day he was pleasant, stating that I was right and that he would straighten it out.
One month later, I receive another bill from Florida First. This time it explains how it will go to the next step.By this time, I am really upset, so I call Mr. Wall up and leave a nasty message.
He calls me up the following Monday telling me to pay my bill, where's my proof, calling me "look at what I'm dealing with", it's not my credit that's going to be ruined, I shouldn't be such a deadbeat, he deals with people like me all the time, there are a lot of crazy people out there, and on and on. He is completely lying. I in good faith borrowed money to settle that bill and he's still harassing me.
