I received a letter in the mail saying I was "Approved" for a $5,000 credit card. All I needed to do was to send $45 for standard or $49 for rush processing and delivery. It came with a 12 month 0% APR.
Them it said the terms and conditions included in mimbership package. Needless to say I started to smell a rat.
One, because i have a fraud alert and who would approve you for a credit card without checking your credit history.
Two, it sounded to good to be true.
I found no such company on the web. And of course there was no phone number to call, no physcal street address besides the PO box, nothing. Luckly I did not send the money; but a friend got the same thing and she did.
After waiting two weeks; she sent a letter demanding her money back. She has still not gotten it back. So she went to the bank to try to stop payment on her check if they hadn't cashed it yet. Guess what, it had been cashed 4 days after she mailed the check off.
Its now been a month. Still no word. So people beware, if it sounds to good... It is.
