In August of 1999 I responded to a pre-approved Credit Card offer with ACE / United Credit National Bank for a Credit Card. Soon after that I received a UPS package and a bill for $300.00 which was billed to my new Credit Card with a $79.00 fee, on a card with a $400.00 limit? I didnt order this Educational material for $300.00, I wouldnt order this over-priced material which would use up my credit limit on my new card. I returned the package to the office so it could be sent back, and called the bank and cancelled the credit card. I have received 2 letters from this company stating I owe $300.95 and that they are reporting me to the credit bureaus.
I pay all my legitimate bills on time and as agreed, my credit shows this!!! This company used misleading, deceptive practices and charges to sell me a credit card, send me unordered educational material at adsorbent prices to max-out my new credit card and when you try to refuse, they file a bad credit report! The B.B.B.in Denver, Co. Does have a bad Company Reliability Report on these scammers and the 15 additional Doing -Business-As - Names they have, for unanswered complaints concerning unauthorized charges after the consumer has terminated his or her agreement with the company, which has resulted in the company reporting nonpayment of these charges to credit bureaus. The number and type of complaints is considered unusual for this industry.
