I bought a moneygram money order from Wal-Mart to give to a lawyer who had sued me and he didn't accept the momey order. I went to Wal-Mart with the receipt where I had bought the M.O. And the actual money order filled out with the lawyer's name. Wal-Mart would cash it for me or give me a refund and told me to call MoneyGram after approx and hour on hold the sent me several forms to fill out which I did to there satisfaction and sent to the with the original money order as requested and had to agree to let them hold out a substantial fee just to get my money back. I call moneygram after 6 weeks of waiting and another hour on hold that my M.O. Had been sent to me and I hadn't received it, they told me to file more paperwork with and they would hold out another substanstial fee on top of the fee they already held out to research it for me. They want their fee in advance but stated on their form that it doesn't guarantee return of my money it is only a research fee.
There has to be a better way to do business like this, I would never do business with them again and would recommend that you think twice before you do.in my 50 years of doing business this experience ranks in the top 3 of all-time
