We've had a 10K line of credit with AMEX that I haven't touched unit last month. We've got a small photography studio here in NH and I needed to cover bills as our business stopped as the economy fell through the floor.
Last week I wrote another 2k check to cover costs as business has picked up a bit and out of the blue without warning AMEX chooses not to honor the check I had written. On top of that, they left me hanging with a bank fee!
When I called I got someone in some country I could barely understand and all they would do is repeat a script. My GAWD!!! I've been using AMEX personal cards for years as has my wife. Plus, we pay quite a premium every month as an AMEX merchant and this is how they treat us.
I immediately canceled our merchant account and as soon as we cash in our many many points, we're done with this company.
I guess the greedy folks over there are trying to preserve they're year-end bonuses, eh?
