The Most Unprofressional Credit Card Compnay I've ever dealt with

The latest company to rip me off is Wells Fargo, Credit Card division. I have an auto loan with them and have never had a problem previously. I received a telephone call for them which was in regards to a Credit Card application. They offered me a low 2.9 percent interest rate for the first year on all balance transfers, afterwards, it would be 15.9 percent. I was eager to pay off a high interest rate card, so I though this would be a great way to cut my monthly interest payments. I went though the application process and was accepted.

About a month went by and I had yet to receive the credit card or my first bill. Since I hadn't planned on using the card, I wasn't worried when it didn't come, but when I hadn't yet received the bill I knew something was up. So I called them and reached a person that clearly had no idea what they were doing. You don't have a credit card with us I was told. So they transferred me to their Credit Card applications department, they didn't know anything either. Well, I knew I had an account with them, because I owed them money, but what was I to do?

Well, even though I was told otherwise when I called them, I started receiving calls about 5 times a day. I don't answer the phone unless I recognize the name on the caller ID, or if they leave a message, so I didn't answer. Finally, my wife answered one day and received a very RUDE call from Wells Fargo's overdue accounts department. I wasn't in at the time, so I called them back as soon as I got in. I explained the situation to them, and they dropped the late fee which was fair of them. They said they had the returned credit card and bill and would send it out to me promptly. Apparently they had the wrong address. Mind you I still have the car loan with them and I always receive it, at the correct address. So somebody messed up along the way and it wasn't me.

Thinking this situation was finally sorted out, I went back to business as usual. Only, I STILL did not receive the credit card in the mail. After a week or so, I called them. Once again, somebody that sounded like a college student told me I did not have an account with them. On a positive note, I did receive the next bill. Things were far from being sorted out though, the 2.9 percent interest rate I was promised was no where to be found, instead it was 15.9. Once again I had to call them and sort this out, but at least now I had my credit card number.

I called them, trying my best to stay calm. I explained that I was promised 2.9 percent interest on my balance transfers, and that I was upset with how the company had been treating me, and that I STILL had not even received my credit card. They told me that they never gave cards for such a low interest rate, and asked if I had the paperwork. Well, of course I did not as they never sent it! I have no written conformation of the promised low interest rate, so I am stuck paying this outrageous amount. About the Credit Card, they told me they closed my account immediately after receiving the returned card as that was their policy. They told me if I wanted the credit card I would have to fill out the application, which they would send. I think at this point it goes without saying that I still have not received that application in the mail.

Now I am stuck paying off the $3,000 I transferred to this card, at 15.9 percent interest. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know, but with no written agreement I don't see how I can fix this. Calling them is pretty much useless.
