You guys will love this one, and it has been going on for over two years...
The good news is we are only talking about perhaps 6-7 calls over the course of just over 2 years now. Bad news is they will not stop.
I recieve a call, caller ID usually does not give me much info on the caller or where the caller is, claiming to be from 'Triad Financial' and they are 'trying to track down a client.' They also always refuse to give me the name of the person calling, department, a way to call them back or get in contact with them, or any other way to report on the issue.
They claim that they have my name, number and address on file as a 'reference' for their client that they are looking for. They always ask for the same thing, a number or address to find their client. I ask what this is about and usually get a sharp attitude filled response that it is non of my concern but I 'have to respond to them.' Even going so far as to ask again in a threatening manner as if to suggest I am somehow responsible and expect the calls to continue. So I and my wife always give then nothing, laugh, and usually hang up on them.
Roughly 2-3 months later we expect another call with the same story.
What gives here and how the hell do I get off their call list? As far as I am concerned it is irrelevant if I know the person or not it. Assuming I did I may have helped but I am never in the habit of handing out personal information on people I know to someone who refuses to tell me what this is about. Also, I consider it uber stupidity on their part to loss their client as well as it is to harass me about helping them out.
