My payment has always been due on the 1st — and I pay it automatically on the 1st. But last month Wamu billed me on 7/1 AND 7/30. As I have electronic payment set up for the 1st of each month, it was deemed late when I paid on 8/1. September is back to a 1st due date, but with a late fee and increased interest rate.
I have contacted Wamu and got some garbage about billing cycle. What billing cycle goes twice in a month?
How many other people have been billed twice in one month, thereby given a late fee and a higher rate? Wamu knows full well most people can't pay their credit card bill twice in a month—that's why it is a monthly payment! In my case, since it is on auto-pay, I simply didn't even notice.
This is a deceptive and destructive business practice. It is fraudulent.
