US Bank charged me overdraft and negative account fees when my account was still positive. I called and they said it was something I had to take up with the branch where I opened the account because they had put a $100 hold on my account.
So, I went to the branch and after much "discussion" they agreed to refund two of the charges but not the third. I insisted that the other charge be refunded. She said I had to talk to the manager who conveniently wasn't there. She did look into it a little more and saw something odd but said she needed to "investigate" a little more. She called me about 10 minutes later and said that a manager at a separate branch (from the one I opened the accout) had just stuck a $100 hold on my account after I had opened it. So she refunded the other fee and took the hold off.
The whole thing seems odd to me and now that I see all the other complaints I see this is a SERIOUS problem. I work for an attorney and will be discussing this with him tomorrow and see if a class action lawsuit could be filed. Anyone interested in doing it if we have some legal standing? If so, please contact me by email at: ClassActionNowxxxxx (REDACTED FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)
