I have used Paypal for my credit card processing for several years now. Just recently I had a customer order over 5000.00 worth of mechandise from my website over a period one month. All orders shipped on time and were signed for by the recipiant. 2 weeks after the last shipment the cardholder called their issueing bank (American Express) and stated that they did not authorize the charges. When contacted by Paypal in regards to the chargebacks we provided them with the tracking information, sales slip, and signature of the person disputing the charges.
Several weeks later Paypal emails me and states that they have sided with the cardholder and will not reverse the charges in my favor. When asked to produce some sort of documenation from American Express they couldnt and i was told that because the card holder did not sign into Paypal that they could not prove that they actually made the charges and refused to send my paperwork and tracking information from UPS and my website to American Express. So I now sit out $3600. For the original merchandise plus Paypal trying to collect $4500.00 in reversed charges and fees.
I dont see how this can be fair when they charge me a fee every month to process credit cards outside of paypal how they could refuse to send my information onto the issueing bank and just make such a decision for my business based on their own opinion.
