The first year Wells Fargo paid my taxes and insurance just as our contract says. This year they didn't pay the taxes which I had to catch and notify them which they paid with penalties out of their pocket. Now my homeowners insurance payment was late and my insurance company is reinstating my home a month later. When I called customer service they told me they wouldn't pay any bills until they received a statement. I thought this was poor training so I emailed them and my response was they would pay the taxes and insurance when they received a notice. I read in my contract that they agree to pay on time from my escrow account all the bills the escrow is set up to pay. I told them I would have to try this with my creditors. I also told them I hoped I always get a statement from them or I have it in writing from them that if you don't receive a bill you don't have to pay. Who is watching these institutions?
