Consumer First Financial
Telemarketer rip-off

I was contacted in late November by telelphone by Consumer First Financial telling me that I qualified for a $7500.00 credit card through the Bank of America. I was a bit leary but the women assured me that this was legitamate. She explained that it was being taped and if that was ok. I said yes. She then explained to me that there was a one time fee of $249.89 and that it could be defered and be taken from my account on December 20.

She then told me I would receive the card with 7 to 10 days. After telling me the whole pitch she said that she needed to transfer me to a supervisor to verify all information. At this time the supervisor came on the phone and asked if it was okay to tape it and I said YES! She then asked me some questions as well as explaining that I would not receive the card until after the monies were paid. I told her that is not what the other woman said. She then asked if I permitted her to take my money and I told her NO and I did not want the offer. I also explained what the other woman had told me, she said she needed to put me on hold and oh so conveniently was hung up on.

Well guess what, the $249.89 is now out of my account. I have reported it to my bank to see what can be done. I also called the company at 1-800-621-4905 to tell them that I did not authorize this transaction. I talked to Fitzgerald and he said that he would check this out. I told him that he needed to get the tape and listen to where I said NO! He said he would request a copy of the tape and to return call him on Friday and we will listen to the tape together. I will update this when Friday comes and we see what happens.
