US Bank
Lies, ripoffs, overdrafting account, excessive fees

My mother got an accout at US Bank, and a guy helped her set up her account (the desk in the far back), he told her that their overdraft fees would NEVER go over $35 TOTAL, and that they waited so many days before charging a fee, and that amounts could be transferred within 24 hours to cover the overdraft amount without incuring a fee.

She overdrafted her account by $0.42. They started charging THAT DAY at $8.00/day.in the past, they would back date her withdrawls and deposits in order to overdraft her on her account. For an overdraft of $0.42 she ended up paying almost $75! Because the teller would not let her transfer in money to cover the amount, the online banking would not let her transfer money into her account to cover the amount, AND she made a check deposit of $77.26 early Friday (before they pulled the stuff from the machines) and they made sure to NOT post the amount to her account until Monday, and ignoring the fact that they allow up to $100 to be available right away in any deposit made through the teller, and of course they made sure to charge her for Saturday and Sunday even though it is of THEIR systems that did not allow her to deposit the money!

Upon opening the account, the guy told her to open up two accounts, one for online and one for regular purchases, so that she could keep her main account "safe" and that they weren't linked together. THIS IS A LIE! Both cards can access BOTH accounts, and they will take money out of the opposite account that the card was meant to be used for to overdraft your account (they have seperate sceneries for the accounts, so they are easy to tell apart now).

That was our food money for TWO WEEKS that they stole and gas money! We ended up collecting pop cans and eating top ramen for almost three weeks because of them. We were in between school terms and almost didn't make it to school the first day.
