Compass Bank is a Fraud

I was a happy Compass Bank customer for serveral years until recently. I have since got online to complaints to do my own research. WOW, was I surprised! I thought that my living Compass nighmare was just me and that I had done something wrong. However, I am very pleased to see that I am not alone in my findings.

Let me start off by saying, prior to I was happily banking at another very large bank. But my job changed and I needed to travel all week, and only be home on the weekends. The ATM fees at little america banks were killing me. So, I made the switch to Compass for their free ATM offers. Everything seemed fine. I knew and understood their deposit and credits information, and never seemed to have a problem. Until one day things changed. I think like everyone else in the world, the economy is killing people. Maybe that is why banks are taking such a hit on people. I just think that Compass abuses their power, and authority.

It was pay day, and like most people, the days leading to payday are never easy. I got up, checked my balance and saw that my direct deposit was there (8am), no pending debits. I proceeded to get ready, and do my thing. I left for work, now 9am. Stopped to feed the pig called a car ($1 debit charge), and then stopped for my morning Joe. Mind you, it's 9:30am now, and my check is there and ready to go. I had $7 in my account to start the day without my two purchases. All is good and happy in the world.

The next day, I do my normal thing, bank... I had 3 NSF fees pending. So, I called the bank. What's up with this. Got the normal, should've balanced your checkbook deal. I did. My balance yesterday was $7 not including dd of 1700, no other transactions posted that day (today's balance was 1707 before NSF fees). So, what did I do wrong? I bought coffee, gas, and lunch. But none of these have posted, and my check was there before the debits were made. Does not matter. OK, what can you do, but bend over and let them do what they want. You are their hostage.

Next payday, they waited 3 days to post dd. Why? In 3 years they never held a dd. Then it dawned on me. I'm paid on the 15th, and I have a auto debit scheduled for the 17th. Funny, this month, they held my deposit 3 days so that my auto debit would cause a NSF fee. WOW! So, I went to the branch to find out WTF. Of course no help. I called 800#, they were baffled, and the kicker was all my bills were scheduled to be paid that week. Much to my surprise, the rep that I spoke to at the bank, put a freeze on my acccount. How? Why? I don't know. Still don't know, and it's been a week.

Then I start to read these posts and responses. And all I can think to myself is WTF? How can a bank do crap like this to all these people. And these are just the people who will speak up. Who is this Chole person? Does she get paid good money to sit back and make comments on each and every post? Does she find it interesting? I find it interesting that at times she's claims to be an Ex-Employee, and others a comsumer, and on some posts seems to have private and privillaged information about people and circumstance. That were never in a post. So, where is she getting her information from if she's an Ex-Employee or a Consumer?

I think rip-off-report is a great thing, I also think that these people who are employees who sit back and try to make comments about things they know nothing about are idiots. Say you are an employee. Don't claim to be a consumer or former employee. Give me a break and grow up. There was a post back twords the end that states that they think an employee is monitoring this site. If that's the case, say so.

I opened a new account with my old bank today. They were happy to do so, and said that they have tons of people who switch from Compass to them because they are a fraud! Run from this bank, take your money to a respected bank, who does not have hundreds of angury customers.

I do have one thing for Compass. I'm an instructor, and one of my classes is Customer Satisfaction. Did you know Chole that an angury customer will tell on average 10 people about their bad experience, whereas a happy customer might tell 1. Scarry numbers. Lucky for me, I get to tell 1700 people about my bad experience with Compass Bank.

Best of luck to all of you. Don't get sucked into their games.
