Like so many of you parents, I was also a victim of Support Kids. After desparately needing child support, I applied with Support Kids in 2002. It seemed like the government wasn't doing anything or moving fast enough and I was risking eviction and needed money, ASAP! I was set to receive my ex's income tax return and it was intercepted by Support Kids in 2008.
I acknowledged in writing (two weeks after I opened the case with (Support Kids), that I was no longer interested in receiving their services (I was told I had thirty days to cancel). After trying to cancel I was given the run around and received a bill in the mail for $1,000.00 a month later. The bill stated that I breached a contract...? I refused to pay them anything.
I know each and everyone one of you are angry, (because I was very hostile), but if there is any way that you can work out an agreement with your ex to support your child or children... Do that. I know many of you are saying, "If I could do that I wouldn't have filed for child support in the first place." But all I can advise is to pray about the situation and try it. I closed my case with the attorney general (therefore Support Kids won't be get a dime of anything owed to my daughters) and worked out a plan with my ex for support. So far so good, we've been keeping the state and that frivoluos agency OUT of your business!
