I purchased a car from a "special financing" car lot almost a year ago. (we have some credit issues, stemming from my hubby being out of work for nearly a year becasue of some health problems.) about 3 or 4 months after purchasing the car, i was informed that the car note had been purchased by crescent bank.
Since then, if my payment is even a day late they are calling and harrassing me about when the payment is going to be made and if it's not made by such and such day, they are going to come get the car. Well last month, may my hubby and daughter were both ill and my hubby missed 2 days of work. We don't make a lot of $ so that put us in a bind with our bills. Our payment was late a few weeks and of course the daily phone calls start rolling in.
Well i called to make a check by phone payment on june 2. I gave the rep my name, address, phone number social security number and loan account number. She gave me the payment amount with the convenience fee and i gave her all my checking account info to run the check by phone. After that, i assumed everything was taken care of. 2 days later, i recieved a call from Ms. Collins asking when i was going to make my may payment becasue it was past due. I informed her that i made the payment 2 days ago, but she said they had no record of it and that the other girl must not have run the payment through the system.
I called my bank and they informed me that nothing pending in the system so i was like ok, she didn't run the payment through. I called ms. Collins back and told i'd do anothe check by phone, but made sure to ask what they'd do if both payments happened to post. She assured me that if for some reason both did go through it would not be a problem for them to credit the $ back to my checking account.
2 days later on june 6, both payments posted to my checking account. I called ms collins again and she said her records only showed 1 payment posted to my loan so i'd have to get a staement from my bank and fax it to her showing both payments. (the 1st girl posted my payment to some one elses loan i guess). So i did that and she said i'd have the $ abck in a few days. Well after a week i called her back since i still didn't have my $ back in my account. She then informed me she was no longer handling my account and the i should call micheal hilton and she gave me his number.
I called him and told that was told to call him to get the situation resolved. He seemed irritated by my call and said he had know idea what i was talking about, but asked me to fax him the same info i'd already sent in and he'd research it and get it taken care of. I've been in contact with him for 3 weeks now and still haven't gotten my $ back.
My account is over drawn because of the mistake they made now they are trying to tell me they are holding my credit because the june payment is now past due. But the payment technically isn't past due since they still haven't given me $ back. I'm ver frustrateded right now and being 8 1/2 months pregnant, i don't need this kind of stress. I just want them to correct their mistake and reimburse me the over draft fees i've gotten. I've called the vice president and president and no one is ever in their office or will return my calls.
