I am a mobilized National Guard member and as such, realize certain benefits and protection such as a 6% interest rate on debts incurred prior to call up.
I have a Kia financed with Nuvell and it was properly adjusted to this rate. I sent them my current orders on 5 April along with a copy of my orders.
Today, Sunday, my phone rings and it is there computer. I push all the correct selections and speak to a representative who explains that I should be paying 546 instead of 423. I inform him of my SCRA status and that I mailed the letter over a month ago. He was a little difficult at first but then said he would have it checked and I would not be called again until it was investigated. An hour later, the phone rings again and this time the agent is extremely rude and unrelenting. I go through the same explanation and she still wants a payment. I tell her I think that I am being treated rudely and ask her why I am being called twice in the same day and why they even call on Sunday. She rudly replies "you drive your car on Sunday don't you?" and then I ask for her supervisor which she repeatedly denies. She states that none work on the weekends. I ask for her name and ID #. She provides her phoney phone name and refuses to provide any other information and then hands up on me.
I call back and get another representative who is just as rude, refuses to provide complete identification or transfer me to a supervisor although Lorie passes me to a friend nearby who pretends to be the substitute weekend supervisor until I ask for his name and he hangs up. He first denied knowing anything about the SCRA and then quotes it exactly backwards of the express language. They were obviously playing games and not making a good faith effort to correct my account.
I did not know of their bad reputation until today and want to add my experience to the web collection. I am paid in full and have a home rental application pending so I fear that this bad actor will cause me to be denied.
