I closed my account in this bank in 2002.in 2008 I was informed by letter that I had been charged TWO $39 nsf fees for an erroneous $1.95 (that's under two dollars!) By the time I called that day, it had gone up to $111.00 in fees that this "bank" was extorting. I told the woman that this account was long closed and she said she would send me an affidavit to sign, which I did and returned. I continued getting letters from the bank, then today had a call from a collection agency (it hadn't even gone to collections officially, besides the fact that they never recorded that the affidavit was received.) This branch didn't close the acct properly, and apparently it is Compass Bank's corporate policy to continue extorting customers even when they aren't customers for over 5 years!
