I received a call from Allied Interstate. I have just lost my son who passed away on 4/30/08. They asked for him by his first name. He has not lived with me for several years. I asked them if they would tell me what this was about as I was concerned. They were extremely rude, refused to tell me what type of company they were. I am on the do not call list, so I do not know why it wasn’t blocked. I then asked again, saying my son just passed away, and they slammed the phone down.
I am grieving and this really upset me. What can I do? I looked them up and found out they are a collection agency.
