I received a demand for payment in full on a collection notice for one of my accounts {which are in good standing} for Capital One by Alled Interstate.
Upon contacting Capital One I found out that not only are they {Allied} not the third party collection agency for Capital One, this contitutes mail fraud!
I filed a complaint with the United States Postal Service and Capital One placed a fraud alert on my accounts because they (Allied) were able to pull up recent activity on my account {I found this out when I called Allied and they gave me up to date info) Beware they are crafty, they even gave me Capital One's phone number to try and "prove" thier legitimacy. Stating they don't know why Capital One would "say Allied is not thier collection agency" BEWARE!!!
Capital One also did other safeguards to assist me that I don't want to mention in case Allied reads this page too and becomes even more subversive!
This is scary stuff, how many people actually pay these scumbags?
