As the person from Kansas City explained, I contiune to be a month late with my car payment.
Reason, upon financing, via the dealership, I was informed that the first payment was not due until two months later (purchased in June of 1997).
The first payment should have been due in August. Yet I received a late notice for July 1997. I contacted them (many times since) about the information received at time of purchase. Various employees have given different responses. The "late amount" continues on my bill to this day.
I have also asked them to change my due date from the 26th of the month to the 10th. I get paid once a montly, on the 1st of each month. Therefore, they are able to continue to pile on the late charges and make more money, if I would pay the late fees.
Though it is good to know that I am not the only one that this has happened too, it is not good to know that I will never be rid of this problem without refinancing. Unfortunately, that orignal late charge will only transfer to a new company, and that is not acceptable either.
