A co-worker came in today and showed me a check written for him for $4995.98. The letter states that he was won the National Lotto Co-operation Sweepstakes Lotter and to deposit this amount to "enable" him to pay the tax amount of $2995.00 so called tax agent called Jack Williams. I googled this company and low and behold I found a report posted by Belton on this website (thank you!) stating the same thing. I told my co-worker not to deposit the check that this obviously smelled fishy. So Beware! And do not deposit this check and do not write any checks out, who knows what this false company/person will do.
One more thing, when I googled this company and address the following information came up:
Estee Lauder, Inc. Address: 125 Pinelawn Rd Melville, NY 11747
Its interesting how easy a company can be falsified by just removing a few words, letters and numbers. If you remove the Estee, and the number 5 from the address all of the sudden you have:
Lauder Inc, 12 Pinelawn Rd, Melville, NY... The name and address of this fraudulent company.
