Beware of using James Maciokas at Ace Mortgage as your mortgage broker. He is full of lies, he will promise to be able get you refinanced, you will then have to pay up to $495 for an appraisal fee and in the end, find out that you cannot get a refi. He wouldn't return my calls, and avoided my calls until finally he knew he had to talk to me. I was very leary of paying out nearly $500 to have an appraisal done without knowing for sure if we could be refinanced, but he assured me that it was pretty much a for-sure thing. Yeah... So we paid the money and didn't get the re-fi... I should have known better. I was pissed. This guy is desperate to try and get the business so he will tell anyone that they can get refinanced to try and make some money. He doesn't care if you can afford the appraisal fees or not, he'll tell you that you'll get the loan. But beware... Do not use him and if you are trying to re-fi, don't pay out costly fees unless you know for sure yourself that you will get the loan or you will waste your money and your time doing paperwork. Do yourself a favor and find someone who is honest and will tell you the truth.
