Promised Refund Has Never Been Received - Unanwered Calls Remain

In mid 2006 I called J.K. Harris's 800 number to find out about their company and how they work after hearing about them on the radio. Having some IRS problems that I wanted to have resolved I thought they could help. The home office said they had a rep in Vancouver and I needed to go see him so I did. The salesperson was in Vancouver, Wa. He said that after looking at my situation that the company could help. He would not be the one to help but the men at the home office could help but I must pay $750 up front for their services. I paid the $750 while I was in the office and was told that certain things would happen. The first part of what I was told went great and then there was a time when I did not hear from anyone and what was supposed to happen next did not. They did not have their representative or anyone else call me but at the time I expected to be hearing back from them on my case. Based upon what they had told me.instead what showed up on the day I was told that a rep would call me back and tell me how to preceed with my case was a FED X package asking me to redo all of my paperwork. Yes, all of the paper work that I had spent time filling out while I was in the Vancouver office. No explaination was given as to why the paper work had to be filled out (like I think they lost my original papers) and no one from their office had called me to tell me about this issue.

When I got the paper work I was not happy and on August 8th I asked for a full refund. I did not hear anything back from them for several months and so I called them and they said that they would get on it.

Another month or two went by and when I called again they said that they would audit my account and see what they could do. About a month later I got a letter saying that they would refund me only $500 as they had expenses that they needed to pay. (My bet is that they had paid the salesperson in Vancouver and I was getting stuck for this bill). They asked me to fill out and sign a waiver against future action and I signed this and sent it in.

Months and months and months went bye and nothing... in the meantime I moved. On January 7th I wrote the company asking where my refund was and gave them my new address. As of this date (04-23) I have yet to hear from anyone. I called on January 20th and that did not get me anywhere at all. To CMA I not only mailed the January 1st letter but I faxed it to them as well.

On the 10th of February I refaxed and remailed the letter of January 7th.

Today, April 23 I have decided to write the State of Washington Attorney Generals Office Of Consumer Affairs to help me get my full $750 back.

J.K. Harris & Company wanted their money up front and all I wanted was good service to follow. What I got was bad service and a failure to return the money that they said they would return.

If you have also been a victim of this company I would recommend that you also file a report here so that others do not have to go through what I am having to go through to get my money back at this time.

Where is my money J.K. Harris & Company? You promised it but have not performed.in fact you did not perform on much of anything!!! But taking my money.
