Chase Credit Cards
Took off promotion %, jacked it up, reported to bureau without any notification

Chase cards representatives are of no help - I kept getting bounced to another person, had TWO very nice reps, some clueless ones who would transfer me to the "right person" then two very rude reps. Essentially I wanted to know why the promotional APR% was not applied when I used those stupid convenience checks. They said my payment was late so it didn't apply, then proceeded to jack up my finance charges to BOTH chase cards I had to 29%! I had used two convenience checks and did a balance transfer, all in effort to consolidate my debt into one card, so they said I had three types of balances on my account, which meant I had to get THREE counts of 29%! That is insane!

When I said three counts of 29% is ridiculous, the annoying woman said, well you can just see it as one large 29% then... I asked to have it lowered they said no, then after I made my payment the nice rep sent me back over to another rep telling me that he agreed it wasn't fair I didn't get any notification and to try asking again. The last woman was RUDE. She gave me a tirade and lecture about "not having a good history" and since my payment was 30 days late they already reported it to the credit bureau. What?! Don't they usually at least inform you if something is late, let alone before you get a bad report?

I gave her the quick sob story (this is true, but I don't even use it as excuse until this point) - I had my identity and card number stolen last year and it's been a real pain in the *ss straigtening that out. Before last summer I had perfect payments, an excellent credit score and a lot of troubles came later after all the theft and fraudulent charges on my cards and bank account. I wasn't asking her to change anything but if she could just lower the 100000000 finance charges I got could she give me some slack or something? She goes I don't know what happened in your personal life, but no I can't do that, I'm glad you made a minimum payment this time but there's nothing I can do for you, you have to make better payments regardless of whatever happened thankyouverymuch!" With some escalating volume all the way to the end.

What attitude! Did I offend her anywhere? WHY do they have to vent on customers? I am never rude to service reps, I know they get plenty of that, but why is it that they have to vent to the nice people? I gave her my story, I said the previous rep agreed I should have had some sort of notification before I got slammed and she said too bad, it's not up to them.

The nice rep said that they had some computer problems in the past I should ask about that too, the nasty rep informed me that no computer problems would be at fault and that I should have paid regardless of being informed of anything. She was this mean brick wall who wouldn't even let me finish sentences. I finally blurted out - will you let me finish? And I never say that - I had to stop her and go hang on can I finish a sentence here?
I'M the one getting screwed here, why are THEY the grumpy ones? After Rude Rep finished her tirade I quietly said ok... Thank you and hung up. I couldn't believe the attitude.

So all in all, I got slammed with twelve finance charges of 29%, got a negative report to the bureau for being 30 days late on my payment, had my promotional % tossed out the window, and a slew of annoying connections and calls and got my ear chewed off by RudeRep. I took out my scissors and cut my chase cards in half, paid them in full with another card which does send me both email and paper mail notifications and swore to spread the word about how much chase SUCKS.

I don't want them getting another penny out of me. Granted yes, we should all be diligent about credit card payments, but this is insane. Rudeness, squeezing everything they can out of customers, what's going on?! They weasled a few hundred bucks out of me and refused to admit any wrong doing. I HATE them.
