I saw the ad for this great work at home opportunity. I called the number to receive more information, and it arrived a few days later. According to the letter I received, all I had to do was send $32 to HC Publications, and within 72 hours, I would be making lots of money by simply stuffing envelopes with the company's flyers. For each envelope I stuffed, I was to earn $2, with a potential to earn thousands of dollars each week, if I worked hard.
I have never received the envelopes, flyers, and instructions that my $32 was supposed to have purchased, and I may never get it. Who knows? What I do know is that, even if the information is delivered to me, it won't be what I thought. Apparently, I'm only going to receive brief instructions about how to place ads in newspapers in order to get people to send me $2 so that I can send them the same brief instructions.
In all actuality, I probably got what I deserved. I was only going to do this for a few months to help pay some bills and purchase Christmas gifts for my family. A recent move and job change cost me a $10,000 pay cut, so I thought I'd do something extra (besides my full and part-time jobs) because buying gifts for my family means so much to me. HC Publications' made false promises and stole my $32. That may not be a lot of money to some people, but I could have used it to pay my electricity, water, or gas bill. So much for honesty in business. What was I thinking?
