Bogus late notices after payment scheduled online - website says ok - Co. Says not ok Simi Valley

I scheduled my monthly payment as usual on the web. Due to many medical bills this month I was paying in the grace period. I arranged payment for Monday the 3rd of March, on Thursday Feb. 28th at 2:14 pm. The dates for paying on Friday and Monday the 3rd were both highlighted in yellow meaning that a $6.00 charge would be assessed, but no late charges.

Not knowing when my direct deposit would post, I scheduled for Monday so that I knew everythiing was a go. I figured this way I would be sure.

Well, I then received a notice saying that I was late. They then inform me that they will have to monitor my account. I have been paying ahead on this Equity Line for months and I also paid ahead on this payment!

I called them and after playing round robin with their "automated" system for 10 minutes, I finally talked to someone. After "researching" the account for about 10-15 minutes they told me that I was late. The due date was the 20th and the 10 day grace was up on the 29th.

I said I didn't think to count the days because I went by the websites highlighted days and Monday was highlighted in yellow just as Friday the 29th was. The only way they would accept this statement (even though when you are truly late they include the late fee automatically -my transaction didn't) was if I had a picture of the screen!

So now, everyone... If you make payments online you now need to take a picture of the screen to prove these things!

I have an additional question. If you pay within the first 4 days of the grace period there is no charge (highlighted in green). If you pay within days 5-7 there is a $3.00 charge (highlited in blue). If you pay during days 8-10 (sometimes 11 IF the 11 day is a Saturday) there is a $6.00 charge but no late fee (highlighted in yellow). If you pay after that there is a $6.00 charge and a late fee as well (highlighted in pink).

So what are these charges considered? Additional interest?"Convenience" fees"?

I just don't understand.
