Platinum Advantage called telling me that I was approved for credit. I was asked if I wanted to establish or reaestablish my credit. Well being confused because my wife and I were corresponding with a car dealership in regards to a new vehicle that we had recently bought. I said reestablish my credit. Then they went on telling me that I will have a credit card limit for $2500.00 to use any ware, but I would have to put down a $200.00 deposit just to get it started.
So basically I provided my checking account information to this company not really quite sure of what I was getting into. I started to realize that this was not the dealership, and I was misled to believe this scam. They did not provide any contact information to me in regards to a phone number, and or address.
After hanging up I called my wife and I soon came to realized that I was mistaken, by then it was too late. My wife and I immediately called the bank and made them aware of the situation. They block all transactions until we could get to the nearest branch and change our checking as a safety precaution. Being that we still had outstanding debit transactions we were unable to close it right away until they all cleared, but was advised that it will be safe to block all checking withdraws (because my checking account number was what I provided), so we did, but some how this company was still able to take out regardless.
Three weeks latter I received a letter from Platinum Advantage stating that they wanted my social security and signature to processes my account. It also said on the bottom of the letter that Forms returned without complete social security numbers will not be processed. Are they crazy Full me once, but fool me twice no ways!
Also provided on the letter was a contact number so I called to get my money back and the man whom I spoke to was very rude (David Sim) and said that I got involved knowing on exactly what I was getting into. This was further from the truth. He said what did I want from them? Wow duh my money back I said. He went on saying that the only way to get my money back would be threw righting a letter, and that it would be a fifty fifty chance that I would so. So I have mailed my letter this week, but I am sharing my story so that other people out there don't get scammed by this ripped off company to.
