Complaint / Review
NADN National Audit Defense Network
NADN consumer fraud ripoff

7/25 I heard about the National Audit Defense Network on Radio 570 Texas and called to get the free book called Tax 2001they promised to the first 20 people who called. When I was told I had to give them a credit card number I hesitated and told them I did not want the service. They asked for my phone number and since I was on the road, I gave them the cell number. I was told they had people who worked for the IRS who would review our taxes and show us how we could save money. They guaranteed they could get us $3000 back from Uncle Sam for each year going forward and they would also review 3 years back to see if they could get something back.

I felt skeptical and that was why they called back. They promised I could cancel with no problems and my money would be reimbursed within 30 days if I were not satisfied. I was told I only had to call their customer number to cancel.

On 8/22 I called and spoke with Shane. I wanted to cancel. He convinced me to give them an opportunity to look at our taxes. When I told him I needed to cancel because my 30 days were almost up, he said that he was giving me an extension. To go ahead and fax the taxes, that once they received them and reviewed them, someone would be calling me to set up an appointment for a review. He also said that if I was not happy with that review, I could cancel and my money would be refunded. He was pretty sure I would be happy with the review. That same night I faxed my tax information for the 3 years requested.

9/3 I called and spoke with Shane. He said he had placed us on the Review List and someone would be calling me Thursday and 7 P.M. At our home number 972-437-0180 and not my cell #.

9/10 I called at 7:15 P.M., all I got was a recording asking for the client number, and phone number where I could be reached and someone would return our call promptly. I left the required information on the recording.

9/11 I called three times and left messages with my name and home phone number.

9/16 I spoke with Evan who said that we had to fax a written request for cancellation. I told him that I was told that I had an extension placed on my account and I was told I only had to call the customer number to cancel. No one ever said anything about a written cancellation. He advised I fax the written request to 702-877-5570, Attn: Client Resolutions, and include my phone number and a summary of why I wanted to cancel.

9/17 I faxed them I faxed the written request for cancellation.

9/18 I spoke with T. Johnson with Special Services. He said they had received the letter on the 17th. He transferred me to another department and I spoke with Shane who said he would request Client Resolutions call me to tell me when service would be cancelled.

10/3 I called again to find out when I would be cancelled and have my money reimbursed. I was told by Ian that the 30 days had gone by and the only thing I could do was to fax another letter of cancellation to Client Resolutions but I would not be reimbursed because the 30 days had passed. I told him that I had never received the Review I was promised and Shane had said that I had an extension until after my Review. He was adamant that the 30 days had passed.

Every time I asked to speak with a Manager or Supervisor I was told that they were on other calls or could not come to the phone. I left many messages and my calls were not returned. They would not give me any last names and I could not transfer to any of the extensions that were given to me on various occasions.

This place should be investigated by the FBI for fraudulent activity. They are nothing more than smoke and mirrors conmen.

The following is a posting on Rip-Offs a website dedicated to exposing fraudulent businesses. I wish we had seen this site in advance of doing business with these people. The letter below is from a former employee of NADN, and has some scary insight to their operations. Additional postings into this scam can be read by clicking the web link at the bottom of the page.

National Audit Defense Network, NADN Inside scoop from current employee with NADN rip-offs Las Vegas Nevada
Company

National Audit Defense Network, NADNAddress: 4330 South Valley View, Ste. 118Las Vegas Nevada 89103U.S.A. Phone: 800-292-9477Fax: -

Here's the true story on NADN... I am a current employee with this company, and I have read the 22 other posts on this subject.

1.) There are no computers in the sales dept. That contain customer information, all customer info, including credit card #'s and bank account information, are on hand written pages which float freely and un-securely through the sales floor.

2.) There is no such thing as a do not call list (simply because there are no computers, and leads are re-printed daily), so if you request to be taken off of the list, it cannot happen.

3.) There is no computerized record of what the customer requests when joining up for membership in NADN, so you, the customer, can be promised the world, and NADN can deny those promises at any time, because... Again, there is no record!

4.) The $3000.00 guarantee is in new deductions only, not cash in your pocket, not money in your hand, only deductions, which you may or may not be able to take.

5.) The 30 day Money Back Guarantee is bogus, because as a client, you must try the program out for 12 months before actually receiving the refund, the 30 days is the amount of time that you have to request a refund.

6.) The $350.00 Existing Tax Problem fee or ETP fee is non refundable, and is a consulting fee only, it DOES NOT cover any fees associated with actually fixing a tax problem!

7.) Sales people (the guys who hand out the "Free Book" on the phone, and then "bring you on board" as members) are paid 7% commission on gross sales with no chargebacks ever!

8.) We are encouraged to lie, outright and with a smile, on a daily basis. We will tell you anything you want to hear in order to sell the membership... Which ranges from $1400 for 4 years, to $425. For 6 months, for individuals.

9.) This is a truly, unethical, bait and switch scam! I personally will be leaving soon, and the only way I can clear my conscience is by letting you all in on the real scam that is NADN. JenniferLas Vegas, Nevada
